2012 | Passion & Patience Photography

We’ve just posted an online exhibition featuring art and photography works for sale by Sally A. Edwards & Sarah J. Edwards at our new online store.

Starring Julian Casablancas, Adrien Brody, Beastie Boys, James McAvoy, Joseph Fiennes, Josh Homme (QOTSA), MGMT, Jaime Winstone, Sean Faris, Gavin Turk, Phoenix and Broken Bells    

As a photographer, Sarah presents her subjects as future icons, influenced by the laid-back iconic reportage images of Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Her work challenges our relationships with celebrity and paparazzi culture by creating intimate, carefully orchestrated natural set-ups, capturing an entirely different energy. Using medium format film, she takes influence from film direction to create each shot, as if a still. She admires the works of Robby Müller, Wes Anderson and Paul Thomas Anderson.  

As art director Sally creates each edition of BLAG in an non-formulaic manner, using a number of influences from reflections, light, shadows, energies, high-end fashion to cubism. She provokes the idea that a magazine shouldn’t retain strict rules such as limited word counts or images, but chooses to let each story flow naturally – that said her design style is incredibly meticulous. She creates bespoke thematic art based pieces to run throughout each edition from abstract to script poster inspired typography. She draws on inspiration from the innovative yet precise methods of european design and art of the 50’s and 60’s, looking at works of the era such as ‘Design’ magazine.

All photographs are personally approved by talent and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a selection of charities recommended by the featured talent including: Patrick The Optimist for Phoenix, Humane Society of New York for Adrien Brody, Oxfam for James McAvoy, Nordorf-Robbins for MGMT, House of Fairy Tales for Gavin Turk, Great Ormand Street Hospital for Broken Bells, Sweet Relief Musicians Fund for Josh Homme and the Brian O’Conner Sweet Relief Fund for Jesse Hughes.

Each art and photograph purchase will be signed by Sarah J. Edwards / Sally A. Edwards and be couriered with an Authenticity Certificate.

Prices range from £400 - £600 for editions of three and £250 for editions of 10 (+VAT where applicable.)

We’re working away on a brand new App. It will contain unseen film footage of Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace interviewing each other in that infamous bubble bath. More footage of the Interview Battle with ?uestlove and Chuck D, not to mention our 20 Year History – which will be very interactive. There’ll be some brand new content too. It’s very playful and we’ll have a release date for you soon.

We relaunched our shop last weekend and things have been moving at a quick pace, thanks to everyone for their support! We thought we should let you know about some of the editions that are flying out.
